Fachhochschulreife (entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences)

duration 2 years
fields of study: agriculture, design, social work, technology, business and administration
with the entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences, you can start vocational training or study at a university of applied sciences or university of cooperative education

Abitur (general higher education entrance qualification)

duration 3 years
with a general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), you can start vocational training or study at a university, university of applied sciences or university of cooperative education
it’s possible to acquire the general higher education entrance qualification at a Gymnasium (grade 10 -12) or at a Berufliches Gymnasium (grade 11 -13)
